My name is Bruce Furaha. I'm a senior in Chemical Engineering and a fan of good wine and bread. I like to learn about what makes good wine good, from the region where the grapes are grown to the techniques the wine is prepared with. I want to learn more about all things wine and connect with you all. Don't hesitate to reach out with some wine suggestions.

I'm excited that you landed on this page! Read along and find out what I think about wine. I'm learning a lot about wine lately, and I want to share everything from the colors, the aromas, and the tastes of wines I'm encountering along the way.  A night at The Wine Lab... I stopped at The Wine Lab with friends for my first intentional wine tasting.  My flight pick:  Slightly Sweet Flight. This is a 3 (75ml) pours flight from Italy.  Wine tasting with friends The first pour was a Rinaldi Moscato d’ Asti NV(non-vantage). This is a sweet white wine. The precise color is light yellow. This white wine has a gentle and fruity aroma (the wine wheel indicates a peach smell). The taste was divine. My second Poor was Gloria Strawberry Moscato, NV. This is a sweet rose with a pink light strawberry color. The intense aromas bring to mind a colorful floral spring. Drink This Now Blog _Chapter 1, Lesson 1: Why We Drink Wine with Meals and How Food Alters the Taste Perception of Wine

For this lesson, I wanted to try a foreign wine and pair it to with food. I visited the Vintage Cellars where I get my weekly wine tasting and great wine recommendationsThe recommended wine ( although different from the DNT lesson 1 recommendations) is PSÂGOT, Cabernet Sauvignon from Jerusalem, Israel. Bottle (750ml), Price:  $28.39 After my first pour, I noticed a very dark red color. I then swirled and sniffed the wine a couple times before tasting the wine. The wine was dry and had some fruity smell and taste that I associated to cherries and blackberries. The wine was tannic and aggressive, although not as aggressive as the other cabernet sauvignon I usually taste. It had some earthy feel to it that made me think of the calcareous and desert like soil of Israel. After two hours, the wine had more pleasant aromas to senses.   Name/ Winery:  Escher Haus Variety:  Riesling Region:   Rheinhessen Country:  Germany Year:  2022 Price:  $13 Winery/ Wine review:   Lavender and violet notes are lavishly floral against a backdrop of ripe, juicy peaches on this sunny off-dry wine. Zingy citrus acidity gives the palate backbone and a bracing finish. It is instantly one of my favorite white wine grape variety. It has a very unique aroma that's persistent after the sniff. This Riesling is fruity with some hints of honey, pears and peaches.
